I’ve always co slept with my babies 🥰

Over the years I’ve heard all the opinions from other and maternal health nurses about cots, sleep training, and “bad habits” I remember then the midwife would visit me after I had my first and I would place Manea on the bassinet before she arrived and old take her out once she left 🤣 but you know what every family is different.

The way I was raised, I slept beside my mum, and my husband was raised similarly too. For us, co sleeping just felt natural and is apart of our culture.

It made breastfeeding easier, meant less getting in and out of bed, and honestly… I’ve loved every cuddle filled night even though to begin with it was so painful

One day they’ll grow up and be out living their own lives, just like we did.

What a blessing it is to wake up, to pray to study the word, to gym with your husband, to take your kids at 5am 🙃😝 to move and be alive! This is my new norm and I thank God for it everyday! And a mama this wasn’t always the case and as much as I miss having little babies and being at at these times but for different reasons I’m also happy to be where I am 🫶🏽

Everyone loves to post the “glowy” hospital photos!! but nobody wants to talk about the absolute WRECKAGE of the days that follow.

The swelling that makes your own skin feel tight, the jagged pain every time you move, and the sheer mental drain of trying to recover while your older kids still need a mother who isn’t “broken.” Society expects us to just snap bacK but the reality it is a lot more RAW and a lot less pretty.

Your body is doing something incredible: your uterus is contracting back down to its pre-pregnancy size. These contractions help reduce bleeding and support healing, but they can feel quite intense especially in the first few days after birth or while breastfeeding (thanks to the hormone oxytocin doing its job).

For some mums, afterpains feel like mild period cramps. For others, especially after second or third babies, they can feel much stronger. The good news? They usually ease within a few days as your body recovers.
